Ebbsfleet United Under 16’s, who are proudly sponsored by Pulse Insurance Limited, have achieved the incredible feat of a fourth trophy in two seasons.

They successfully defeated Hillyfielders Hawks in a tense final of the Selkent Shield at the Meridian Sports Ground on Sunday 18th May 2025.

An impressive crowd observed a fiercely contested 1-1 draw which was followed by a nail-biting penalty shootout in order to break the deadlock. The Fleet scored four out of five penalty kicks which was enough to secure the win.

The victory marks the end of an era for Joe Balsom, Head of Pulse Specialty, who will be hanging up his stopwatch after ten seasons coaching in youth football.

A number of the boys will now progress into academy football with Ebbsfleet, including his son and team captain Billy Balsom.

A fitting end to a great journey!
